LiveWhale Calendar 3.1.1

This patch release includes bug fixes affecting widget editing, repeating events, and changing search/filter results views on the calendar front-end.

Accessibility improvements

  • Added aria-live announcements to LiveWhale Calendar widget pagination (show more and previous/next page) and place keyboard focus on new results after loading.

Behavior adjustments

  • Updated the calendar behaviors for search_all_events_only and filter_all_events_only so that searching/filtering still brings you to the All Events view but no longer “locks” you there. You can now search or filter and then use the view menu to see those results in other views (day, week, month).
  • The user list on the Edit Group page is now sorted by type (users for whom this is their Primary Group first, then group switchers, then Admins at the bottom) and is styled to more closely match the Manage Users page.

Bugs

  • Widgets and the Widget Editor
    • Fixed an issue with validation and saving of checkboxes (event types, audiences, etc) on the widget editor.
    • Fixed an issue affecting locking/unlocking of widget format fields and editing HTML formatting on existing widgets that are variations on a widget template.
    • Fixed an issue where the default “View full calendar >” link could appear in paginated widget output, even if a customized calendar_url was already included in format_widget.
    • Fixed an issue where the require_image=true widget setting wasn’t including events that have a Group Default image set.
    • Fixed an issue that could cause 500 errors when using a widget with particular settings on a LiveWhale-powered page.
    • Fixed an issue where tag widgets using tag_list=true were still only showing tags that had been applied to one or more items. Now, min_items defaults to false when using tag_list=true.
    • The “Load a custom stylesheet” option on the widget editor now has more instructive help text and a “(refresh)” link to load newly-uploaded styles.
  • Repeating Events
    • Fixed an erronous double-repair on a repeating event time issue that was causing repeating events to have incorrect times set.
    • Fixed an issue with the interactivity (functionality and keyboard focus) of the “Other days per week” repeats option.
  • Applying a new tag from the manager (using the With checked items dropdown) will now automatically re-use an existing tag if one exists with the name given, rather than failing.
  • Fixed an issue with loading Google Maps JS introduced in 3.1.0.
  • Updated syntax of some core calendar mixins (.button to .button()) to avoid getting flagged by the latest version of LESS.
  • Fixed an edge-case display bug where certain inherited styles from front-end theming could affect the LW Toolbar display.
  • Implemented a few bug fixes and tweaks to the updated EMS integration plugin being piloted.
  • Fixed an issue with the subscription Feed Builder page that needed updating to support a newer LW3 approach to event type rendering on the front-end.
  • Fixed an issue where the page cache wouldn’t correctly cache an empty response even if it had a relevant HTTP status code.

Behind-the-scenes

  • Removed unused dependencies (babel and codemirror).
